The Director of Business Development will be responsible for leading and conducting our client and facility outreach functions, generating private pay/private duty leads, and expanding our private duty client base in select local communities. The position will be the most senior in the local office and be responsible for the supervision and performance tracking of all marketing and operational staff in the office. They will also ensure the achievement and maintenance of the company’s accreditation status in the local market.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Marketing/Outreach

  • Actively and directly cultivate key referral sources such as healthcare facilities, physicians, eldercare facilities, and nursing homes in through direct sales calls and regular visits
  • Define and achieve agreed upon sales targets on a periodical basis
  • Develop and maintain prospects, clients, and referral sources databases for contact/and or mailing lists
  • Document/ track sales related activity and provide regular progress reports to management on outreach efforts
  • Understand, explain, and promote agency services to key communities, facility leaders, discharge planners, patient families and others
  • Seek, develop, and participate in relationship building opportunities with a variety of aging care stakeholders in the community.
  • Supervise other marketing and operations staff in a transparent and well documented manner.

Operations

  • Support and oversee key local operations processes including recruitment, onboarding and staffing
  • Assist with operations-related tasks including billing and payroll support as required.
  • Answer questions, transfer calls and take messages as appropriate
  • Oversee care-giver staffing operations including callouts and schedule changes
  • Data entry relating to staff profiles and availability for new hires within the operating software system.
  • Perform client intakes and follow sales process from lead through start of care and maintain quality oversight for private pay patients and families.
  • Act as a point of coordination between local office and support services from central office in Philadelphia
  • Other tasks as required by management

Key Performance Metrics:

Census Growth:

  • Number of new patients obtained monthly from referral sources (at least 2 monthly, or ~24 new billable hours)
  • Number new patients obtained from paid leads program (at least 3 monthly, or~36 new billable hours)

Staffing/Utilization

  • Time required to staff new confirmed cases
  • Patient utilization rates (% of hours approved that are also covered and chargeable)
  • Patient retention rates–continuity levels, “good match” between patients and caregivers

Compliance

  • Level of audit readiness for the caregiver personnel files (% of completed documentation including renewals on an ongoing basis)
  • Level of audit readiness for the patient folders
  • Level of audit readiness for annual license renewal
  • Level of readiness for initial CHAP accreditation survey, and subsequent accreditation surveys

Reports To:

  • President/Owner
  • Managing Director

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Deep knowledge of and experience with the private duty/private pay home care in the North Jersey region
  • High degree of competence in team leadership and performance management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Strong database management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • High School completion, college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the home care/Long-term care sector in positions of increasing responsibility, including management and leadership functions.
  • Record of achievement in sales, marketing and business development.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Bonus: Directly linked to new patients obtained monthly via referral sources
